The ninth Outlands tour commission, in collaboration with Full of Noises, is a live performance that sits between concert, theatre and spoken narrative. Joined by pianist Matthew Bourne, cellist Resina, poet Jean-Baptiste Del Amo and sound designer Ross Downes, the new work develops out of Keeley Forsyth’s 2025 EP ‘Hand to Mouth’ released on FatCat / 130701.
Together the group issue a compelling and tense performance, where memory plagues the present. As with Forsyth’s previous work a concise sound world seems to oscillate between challenging and comforting its audience.
Forsyth’s live shows are renowned for her compelling voice and the physicality of her movement. She has left an indelible mark on audiences around the world, including major festivals such as Unsound, Dark Mofo, Le Guess Who?, CTM, Re-wire and Donau. Forsyth forges connections that are simultaneously fierce and tender, invoking primal, elemental energy with moments of ethereal softness. She defies easy categorisation, deftly manifesting sound worlds that refuse to be confined by genre, conventional artistic boundaries or expectations.
